Lesson planning is an integral part of classroom instruction. A well planned lesson is like a road map for teachers to guide their students through. The goal of teaching is to impart students the understanding of lesson concepts and this can best follow if the instruction is laid out in a well planned step by step order. This is where lesson plans come into play. Lesson planning helps teachers organize their thought processes during teaching, and keeps them congnizant of the order the instruction should follow. Lesson planning also helps teachers explain and organize the insturctional content in an effective way so as to minimize students learning curve. The essential components of a lesson plan spell out all the important aspects of lesson instruction in a well planned order and following the lesson plan helps teachers not only teach effectively but also keep students focus on learning.
To support the teaching and learning process, the classroom lesson plans on Readyteacher.com are a free resource for elementary school teachers. All lesson plans follow more or less a set template that includes the essential components of a lesson plan. Teachers can use the entire lesson plan as it is, tweak into a mini lesson, or add their own content. Teachers can also freely print or download lessons, share them with colleagues, or make changes as desired.
All lesson plans have been linked under classroom lesson plans in the top navigation bar. I plan to add more lessons soon. So check back often! Take me to the classroom lesson plans
